£1.5 million manufacturing investment for Hyperlast

Speciality polyurethanes elastomer and coatings system house Hyperlast Limited, are investing £1.5m in increased manufacturing capability.

Highly sophisticated and state-of-the-art plant operating techniques are to replace the existing computer controlled systems, and on-site logistical services will be substantially increased.

Innovative and sustained growth in specialist polyurethane markets, and recent acquisitions in the polyester market, has resulted in the requirement for increased manufacturing capacity at their factory in Birch Vale, Derbyshire, UK.

Hyperlast Limited have developed an extensive range of polyurethane elastomers and coatings that include applications as diverse as protective coatings for oil & gas flowlines, acoustic damping for light rail tracks, absorbing shock and vibration in motor vehicles, the provision of anti-slip road surfaces and stabilisation of high-speed train ballast.

The 2002 investment plan reflects the progress being made throughout the British Vita Group, in both research and development and in customer fulfilment. Hyperlast Managing Director Matthew Miller is pleased with the progress "This investment confirms that Hyperlast Limited is the market leader in developing speciality polyurethane elastomers for engineering applications".
